What is it? And, is it for me? Read on to discover the art and science of this practice.
Naturopathic medicine: What is it?
Thanks for asking! My name is Natalie and I’m a naturopathic doctor. The medical approach I use is:
Wholistic: I consider your concerns within the context of you/your life (stress – good and bad; diet; sleep; energy; health history; lab reports together with symptoms!)
Investigative: Symptoms like fatigue, low energy, low mood, migraines, gas/bloating, and painful periods are ways that your body is telling you something isn’t working right. We work together, applying evidence-based research together with traditional knowledge and clinical experience to determine the root cause of your symptoms.
Balanced: Naturopathic Medicine helps the body to regain homeostasis – balance – in a gentle and supportive way. I am here to work with you, to support your body to get itself back on track.
Logical: I follow a Therapeutic Order to healing, looking first at possible obstacles (such as reviewing sleep, diet and other habits), then supporting your own body’s natural healing processes and strengthening weakened systems. Further correction and restoration/regeneration of body systems are best done after optimizing the foundation.
It is amazing how even small changes to sleep and diet can have profound effects on the entire body. Book a FREE meeting with me today and learn more about how Naturopathic Medicine can work with you to help you achieve your goals!
My training: The 4-year naturopathic medical degree is similar to a medical doctor, with additional training in nutrition, herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, physical manipulation and counselling. I draw from all of my training when considering each individual’s case.
Naturopathic medicine: Is it for me?
Are you feeling like your BEST self? [Truth: most of us aren't - so let's start the journey!]
Naturopathic Medicine can help you discover ways to feel better than your "normal". For example, maybe you:
are coping with life stress and change (your diet, marriage, deaths, new babies, new house, new jobs and more all significantly increase the stress on your body)
feel exhausted often or have low energy,
feel tired frequently, especially after a full night's rest;
have trouble getting quality sleep and rest;
have gas/bloating regularly;
have painful periods / intense PMS symptoms;
feel anxious or depressed frequently;
have trouble regulating your emotions;
have seasonal allergies;
just want to feel BETTER than you do now!
